Your first cold and flu season with a little one can feel overwhelming. Gone are the days of spending a few days in bed with paracetamol and bouncing back with ease. This time, you’ll be watching over your little one, and if they happen to catch something too (touch wood they don’t!), it can be downright scary. So, here are my top tips for preparing and navigating through this challenging season.

Preparation is Key
First things first: ensure your immune system as good as it can be. Taking a daily multivitamin or incorporating a green juice into your routine can help you load up on essential nutrients quickly and easily. I recommend the Female Multivitamin from Vitl or Free Soul Greens, that taste way better than they look! Just remember to consult your doctor before taking any supplements if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.

Ask for Help
Caring for a little one is tough enough, without the added challenge of feeling unwell. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your support system for help, whether it’s to catch up on sleep or just lend a hand with baby duties. If your little one falls ill, it’s perfectly okay to consult a doctor or midwife for advice. The first time can be scary, and it's best to get reassurance if you’re unsure.

You Are What You Eat
When you’re feeling under the weather, it’s all too easy to opt for takeout and comfort food (trust me, I’ve been there - and on many occasions I still am there...). However, eating nutritious food is vital for your recovery and overall wellbeing. If the thought of cooking from scratch feels overwhelming, consider trying a HelloFresh box for the week or the Stocked frozen, easy to cook meals are super healthy and can be prepared in minutes.
Rest Up and Wrap Up
Above all, take this time to rest. Slip into your comfiest pyjamas, binge-watch your favourite shows on Netflix, and focus on getting through the week. You might feel awful, but at least a cozy lounge set from In The Style will make you look cute while you’re recovering.
This cold and flu season may bring its challenges, but with some preparation and a little help from your friends and family, you can navigate it with confidence. Remember, it’s perfectly okay to take time for yourself and lean on your support system. Plus we've got some great discounts on the cubbi app for all the brands listed above - so make sure you check that out if you're interested.
You’ve got this, mama!
